SUTHERLAND RAIDERS TOOK ON MILLER TIME IN THE HOWARD PULLEY PRO CITY SUMMER LEAGUE

On Aug. 1 the crowd at the High Performance Center was big as basketball fans flocked to watch the Howard Pulley Pro City Summer League basketball game. The Sutherland Raiders took on Miller Time.

 

Both teams came out and played with a lot of passion, energy and emotion. Sutherland got out to a quick start as they got out to an 11-5 start in the first four minutes of the game.

SHABAZZ MUHAMMAD SENT HOME FROM ROOKIE TRANSITION PROGRAM

According to Jeff Zillgitt of  USA TODAY Sports, “Minnesota Timberwolves
rookie guard Shabazz Muhammad was sent home from the NBA's Rookie Transition
Program for violating of a rule and bringing a female guest into his hotel room
on Tuesday August 8.”




Muhammad was selected number 14 in the 2013 draft.

BASKETBALL MUCH MORE THAN JUST A GAME

Larry McKenzie, current head boys’ basketball coach at Minneapolis North, came out with a book in 2011 called “Basketball Much More Than Just A Game.”

 

I picked up a copy of the book at my local Washburn library. I was interested in the book so I began reading it.

SUTHERLAND RAIDERS TOOK ON PAT MADISON MAGIC IN THE HOWARD PULLEY PRO CITY SUMMER LEAGUE

DAN PRATT IS THE NEW ATHLETIC DIRECTOR AT ROCKFORD HIGH SCHOOL

Pratt has spent the last 13 years as the Athletic Director at Minneapolis Washburn.

Former Park Center activities director charged with theft by swindle

MILLER TIME TOOK ON INFORMATION INVESTORS IN THE HOWARD PULLEY PRO CITY SUMMER LEAGUE

Miller Time took on Investors in the Howard Pulley Pro City Summer League basketball game.
 

Miller Time started out strong as they were able to sink a few quick baskets early in the first quarter.

 

Information Investors also attacked the basket. They took a lot of time off of the clock as they looked to shoot the ball with around 10 seconds left on the shot clock.

Pat Madison and HPA squared off against each other in the Howard Pulley Pro City Summer League.

 

Both teams looked excited to play each other going through the warm up lines. Once the game started it took awhile to get used to what the other team was doing.

I think that the Minnesota Breakdown does a good job of running one-day boys’ basketball tournaments. I attended the tournament at Prior Lake High School  on Sunday July 7, 2013. The tournament was well run.

 

I thought that the players played hard and it gave teams a chance in the summer to play with their high school teams.

SIMLEY TOOK ON PRIOR LAKE IN A BOYS’ BASKETBALL GAME

In the varsity division of the Minnesota Breakdown boys’ basketball tournament Simley took on Prior Lake.

 

Prior Lake did a good job of moving the ball down the floor and were able to get a lot of good open looks at the basket early in the game.

 

Simley had a hard time making shots in the first half. They didn’t give up as they kept on looking for shots that they wanted to hit.

The Minnesota Breakdown put on a boys’ basketball tournament in Prior Lake on July 7, 2013. Games consisted of a pair of 20 minute halves.

INERNATIONAL MEN’S BASKETBALL TRYOUT

Former University of Minnesota basketball players Trevor Mbakwe and Rodney Williams are playing for the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA Summer League. They are playing in the Orlando League, with games played at Amway Center. The 76ers played the Houston Rockets on Sunday, July 7.
